From the Counselor

Hello x̌alilc Families,

February is here and we’ve got lots to celebrate—Black history month, past presidents, and here at x̌alilc: ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE DAY!

On Tuesday, Feb. 10 students are invited to dress in pink, red, or white as we participate in our annual positive, joy-filled day, focusing on compassion for others, remembering those who love us, growing in love for oneself, and celebrating LOVE’s byproducts!

Additionally, our new character trait focus is HONESTY. Across grade levels, students are learning about being truthful in what they do and say. Practicing honesty helps strengthen our relationships and even reduces stress. Have some fun connecting as a family this month while practicing honesty. Here is a “PurposeFull Pursuit” you can complete together!

Review honesty as a family!
  • Discuss the importance of being honest and work together to create a family honesty pledge.
  • Create and decorate a poster together that explains what honesty means in your family. Have each family member sign the pledge and choose a spot to display it.
  • Refer back to the pledge as a reminder to be honest and to celebrate when honesty is practiced!

All the Best,
Katie Brase, Counselor
All you need is love day

Lost and Found

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is full! Please be sure to check the lost and found during Conferences. All unclaimed items will be Donated on February 23, 2026.

Remember to label coats and jackets, as well as lunch boxes. We’d love to be able to reconnect your child with their misplaced gear. Sharpies are a great option as are purchased clothing stickers from online vendors. Save yourself time and money and label their gear.

BusRight App

Transportation Update: BusRight Launch Coming Soon!

We’re excited to share that we will be launching the BusRight app next week and look forward to providing families with a new tool that offers greater visibility and real-time updates for student transportation.

Our original plan was to send activation emails on Monday; however, due to technical difficulties, those emails were delayed and are now being sent to families today. Please check your inbox for next steps.

What to Look For
Families of bus riders will receive an activation email with simple, step-by-step instructions to set up their BusRight account and begin using the app once the system is live.

Why We’re Excited About BusRight
Once active, BusRight will put transportation information right at your fingertips:
  • Real-Time Tracking: Follow your child’s bus on a live map
  • Arrival Times: View estimated arrival times for your specific stop
  • Stay Informed: Receive notifications about route updates or delays

Questions?
If you have questions about your child’s route or the BusRight app, please contact our Transportation Department at 206-842-4641.
