Bainbridge Island School District offers half-day preschool programs for students 3-5 years-old.

Our preschools are committed to providing a nurturing, culturally responsive environment for every student. We strive to build strong foundational skills for early learning success and kindergarten readiness. Through engaging experiences and personalized instruction, we empower young learners to develop critical thinking, social-emotional, and academic abilities for lifelong success.

What Makes Bainbridge Preschools Unique?

Our preschool classrooms include students who qualify for special education services and peer models learning together. Classes are small, usually about 14 students with 3 teachers.

What makes Bainbridge unique is the pyramid practice model for social emotional competence, which focuses on meeting developmental benchmarks in:

  • Social/emotional development
  • Communication skills
  • Pre-academics
  • Motor skills
  • Adaptive development

Our teachers believe in learning through discovery, play, and imagination, balanced with routine and structure throughout the day. As an added benefit, the preschool teachers work closely with kindergarten teachers in the district to target behaviors and skills that are important for kindergarten readiness.

Schedule & Locations

Currently located at Blakely Elementary and x̌alilc (Halilts) Elementary, the preschool meets four days per week (Tuesday-Friday) for 2.5 hours per day. Morning and afternoon sessions are offered at each school: the AM session is from 7:45 am to 10:15 am and the PM session is from 11:45 am to 2:15 pm.

Peer Model Tuition

Tuition for peer models for the [[SCHOOL YEAR]] school year is [[ANNUAL TUITION]] for the year or [[MONTHLY TUITION]] per month for 10 months. A non-refundable deposit is paid at the time of enrollment and becomes your June tuition.
