New & Returning Student Enrollment

It's time for the ABCs!

ABC Process logoOur Annual Back-to-school Check-in (ABC) process lets us know that your student(s) are returning to our schools for 2024-25 and allows parents/guardians to review annual information.

The ABCs must be completed* for all students attending BISD schools in 2024-25 — this includes both new and returning students.  Access the ABCs by logging into your Skyward account. It should take about 15 minutes (or less!) to complete.

If you need assistance with the ABC process (such as translation, accessing technology, or other questions), please contact the office manager at your student's school.

*Class placement/class schedules will not be released in August until the ABCs are completed. But why delay? Go ahead and take care of it today!

We are excited to offer our online New / Returning Student Enrollment module to parents and guardians looking to enroll their students into the Bainbridge Island School District.

Our online module will allow you to get started enrolling your student as efficiently and easily as possible.  If you do not have access to a computer, please contact Student Records at (206) 780-1877. Student Records will help provide resources to access a computer for the enrollment process.

Ready to enroll?

  • If you are enrolling a student in grades Pre-school through 4th grade, placement into a specific school cannot be guaranteed. As we gather enrollment information, placement will be determined based on the physical address, transportation, classroom capacity, etc. at each of our sites.

If enrolling during the summer months, once Administrative staff at the building level return from summer break, they will be able to assess students/families that are leaving our district, and how that will impact placement into Pre-school through 4th-grade levels.

    Grade Levels

Our school grade levels are aligned as follows:

    • Pre-School (ages 3 -6 depending on enrollment date)
    • Primary: Grades K-4
    • Intermediate: Grades 5-6
    • Middle School: Grades 7-8
    • High School: Grades 9-12

    Option Programs

Enrollment into our option programs, Eagle Harbor High SchoolOdyssey Multiage ProgramEl Velero Spanish Immersion or Mosaic Home Education Partnership is determined through an application process separate from this enrollment application process.  If your student hopes to attend one of our option programs, please complete the enrollment application process first, then contact the school directly to obtain an application and/or information regarding their specific process.  Enrollment into our option programs is determined by space availability in the program.

If you have questions pertaining to Preschool enrollment, you may contact our preschool coordinator at: or by phone: 206-780-3034
