Jennie Donoghue

From the Principal

Dear Woodward Families,
Thank you all for attending our  Back to School night! We really appreciate you coming out to meet the teachers and support Woodward! It was so great to meet new families and say hello to our returning families. We really enjoy the opportunity to talk with families and hear from you!

I would like to give a shout out to our PTO for their work on the Woodward Fallapooza fundraiser! They spend many hours organizing this and your students truly benefit in so many ways. Thank you!

SPIRITWEAR has arrived! Students may pick up the orders (under parent/guardian name) this coming Friday, October 3rd, in the WMS Commons before school starts. If your student is not here on Friday, we will have it for them in the office.

Have a wonderful rest of the week and thank you for sending us your students!

Jeannie Donoghue
WMS Principal

Picture Retake Day

Picture Retakes - Wednesday, Oct 8

If you couldn’t make it to Picture Day or want a do-over, retakes are scheduled for next Wednesday, Oct 8th.

For students doing retakes, the new photo will automatically be used in place of the first one.

Bring those smiles and remember to not wear green.

Healthy Youth Survey

Washington State Healthy Youth Survey 2025

Our school is participating in the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey this October. The survey will be administered on the following dates:
  • 8th grade students at Woodward — October 22 during their Science class.

The Healthy Youth Survey includes questions related to physical activity, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, interpersonal relationships, school experiences, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services. Survey results are used by schools, communities, and State agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks. Participation in the survey is voluntary and steps are taken to ensure student privacy. There are no names or codes used to link a survey back to a student.

Please read this very important document with frequently asked questions and information about the survey: Healthy Youth Survey for Parents & Youth

To opt your student out, please call the Front Office at 206-780-4501.

Healthy Youth Survey Information for Families and Youth is also available in:

PTO - Calling All Volunteers!

Fallapalooza is coming up on 10/24 and we need numerous parent volunteers to make the event run smoothly for our Woodward students!

The link to the Sign-Up-Genius for Fallapalooza is below. Please join us as a volunteer at this popular event that is pure FUN for our kids.

The BIG GIVE Fundraiser

The Big Give - Woodward's ONE and ONLY Fundraiser!

Woodward Middle School PTO’s annual fundraiser starts….NOW!

This is our One-and-Done, ONLY fundraiser for the year. Donations keep our school strong by funding:

  • Staff grants & teacher discretionary spending
  • Online learning subscriptions
  • Clubs
  • Special speakers & assemblies
  • Student events like Fallapalooza & Field Day
  • And much more!

The suggested donation is $150/student, but we recognize that all family finances are different and encourage you to donate at a level that works for your family.

You can donate online here or donate with cash/check (peek in backpacks for pledge forms and envelopes if you haven’t seen one yet!)
Donation envelopes can be turned in to PTO volunteers at school entrances before school until October 17th. They can also be given to the school office at any time. If you donate online, your student does NOT need to turn in an envelope.

Donations made in your student’s name make your student eligible for fun, daily prize drawings!

Thank you Woodward families - Donations like yours help to keep our school amazing!

8th Grade Banquet

8th Grade Banquet

Calling all Parents and Care Givers of 8th Graders!

We are looking for some enthusiastic volunteers to help out with the Eighth Grade Banquet that will take place on May 30th. We are hoping that you could share one of your many talents and contribute in some way. Whether you're a master of decorations, a spreadsheet wizard, or just really good at showing up with a smile, there's a role for everyone.

Please take a moment and fill out our volunteer form so we can see where your interests lie.

Thanks for helping us make this night unforgettable (and maybe a little sparkly).

—Your Eighth Grade Banquet Committee
