Community Updates

May 1, 2025

Welcome to May!

May is a month full of celebrations, busy schedules with spring activities, end of year assessments, and community gatherings. We know how to fill our days and last weeks of the school year. Our students have worked hard this year and we want to recognize their individual growth and provide opportunities to celebrate community together. We also show appreciation for all of our amazing teachers and staff May 5-9 for Teacher Appreciation Week! They all deserve our support, encouragement, and recognition for their daily commitment to our students! Thank you all for your generosity and kindness!

The Character Strong theme for May is CREATIVITY, which is appropriate as we showcase our students art and music talents at the end of year celebrations. We also need to use our creative problem solving skills as we continue to navigate our district staffing/budget challenges and plan for an innovative path forward.

I am hopeful and energized by our community and the students who advocate for themselves and one another. I am also grateful for parent partnerships as we collaborate and support all of the students at Odyssey, Mosaic, EHHS, and Co-LAB!

Thank you for supporting our district and all of our dedicated staff members! We all want to provide safe, inclusive, enriching, and student-centered classrooms! We continue to plan for growth as an options learning community, enhance program offerings, and seek creative ways to support all of our students and the school district.

Thank you all for your support and commitment to COS K-12!
