BISD Board Vacancy

BISD School Board Director Erika Borg has stepped down from her position due to unforeseen circumstances. Her resignation is effective immediately. Additionally, Erika has withdrawn her candidacy for the 2nd District seat in the general election.
“It was a pleasure working with Erika and I’m grateful for the insights and wisdom she brought to the Board. While her tenure was short, her work had an immediate impact on the District, and I wish her well in her future endeavors,” said Board President, Evan Saint Clair.
As is Board practice and dictated by law, the BISD board of directors will appoint a director to fill the 2nd District vacancy. The person appointed will serve the remaining period of the seat’s term which is up for election in November. It is the expectation this person would be a write-in candidate in the November 4 general election. To be eligible, all qualifications must be met:
- Be a citizen of the United States
- A legal resident of Washington State
- At least 18 years old by the date of appointment (October 30, 2025)
- Be registered to vote within the Bainbridge Island School District
- Be registered to vote within the the boundary of District 2
- Is not employed by the district. If the Director's partner/dependents are employed by the district as a classified or certificated employee before becoming a director, their partner/dependent’s contract can be renewed for further employment.
