If my child tests positive for COVID-19, for how long should they isolate at home?

All persons with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 should isolate at home for at least 5 days following the initial day of symptoms or their positive test.

A person with COVID-19 can return to community life when the following criteria are met:

  • Five full days of isolation have passed.
  • Their symptoms have improved and they are fever-free without the use of medication.
  • They should wear a well-fitting mask through the infection's 10th day.
  • They should avoid contact with persons who are at risk for severe illness.
