Maddie Loverich
Star Times All-Area Honoree

The Seattle Times has announced it's spring selections for their Star Times all-area teams and BHS's own Maddie Loverich was selected. Seattle Times staffers and freelancers select Star Times all-area honorees from athletes in King and Snohomish counties, plus schools in the Metro and WesCo conferences.

Loverich, who primarily catches but also plays third base, batted .542 with 13 extra-base hits (a .983 slugging percentage) and 28 RBI as the Spartans finished the regular season at 17-3 and just missed the Metro League Mountain Division title. Cross Country Student-Athlete Recognition

Based on their performance at the State Championships, Audrey Weaver, Naomi vonRuden, Jackie McVay have been named to the Washington Cross Country 2017 East West All-Star Roster. Jacob Carlson was also named to the team based on his strong season performances. The All-Star race is held on a fast 5k road course in conjunction with the Run of the Mill 5k on Saturday, June 25th. All-League Baseball Honors

Seven BHS players earned a spot on the All-Metro League teams, including four players on the first team. The first team selections were Brooks Wallace (IF), Jack Niehaus (OF), Liam Hatakenaka (P) and Garrett Aichele (UTL). The second team selections were Brooks Lierle (IF), Mitch Kurtz (OF) and James McMurray (P). Honorable Mention recognition went to Matthew Spence and Ethan Schulte.
