Start the school year off right --- and keep it up throughout the year with good attendance! Chronic absence is classified as missing 10% of school days (or approximately two days a month) due to absence for any reason—excused or unexcused —and can lead to students having difficulty learning to read by the third grade, achieving in middle school, and graduating from high school.
