Healthy Youth Survey
The biennial Washington State Healthy Youth Survey (HYS) will be administered to students in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 in the month of October.
The Washington State Healthy Youth Survey produces estimates of the prevalence of major adolescent health risk behaviors and provides crucial information to school officials, health professionals, human service agencies, policymakers, and parents as they work together to ensure the optimum health of young people across the state. Specifically, BISD uses data from the HYS to help us refine our work regarding student health, well-being and safety as outlined in our District Improvement Plan.
Student participation is completely voluntary and anonymous. The administration procedures are designed to protect student privacy and anonymity. Parent/guardian opt-out instructions are linked here: https://forms.gle/
