I am honored to serve as superintendent of the Bainbridge Island School District, located in the remarkable Bainbridge Island community. I became BISD superintendent in 2016 and before stepping into the role, I was BISD’s associate superintendent of administrative services. My local ties go back even further, however, as I am a proud graduate of Bainbridge High School. 

BISD is deeply committed to ensuring that every student feels welcome, safe and engaged in learning. In 2020, BISD adopted a new District Improvement Plan, and I encourage you to review it as the plan shapes our priorities, drives our work and provides shared goals for our schools. Since the plan’s adoption, I’ve witnessed:

• A strengthened sense of purpose from our staff 

• Focused attention on receiving student input

• Increased community interest in our schools

• Curriculum adoptions in alignment with our goals and belief statements     

BISD has a continued reputation for having top-notch schools and a phenomenal staff who are passionate about their work. These are tremendous accolades, and I am proud of them. BISD is more than just test scores and accomplishments, however. Our schools strive to nurture every student's unique skills, talents and passions. This intentional focus helps students develop a lifelong love of learning and a sense of purpose. 

Whether you are new to the district or have been around as long as I have, I look forward to partnering with you and continuing the great work of BISD.
