     So much change has come about in the last few months. As we get ready to start the 2020-21 school year I will be be teamed with Ms. Haas and Mr. Moore. I'll teach the language arts classes for all the students on our team. I'll also teach social studies to my home room class.Dad's birthday
    This summer I was able to travel to the Washington DC suburbs to celebrate my father's 90th birthday with most of my family. Here we are in a group shot. I think it will be easy to spot my dad. Can you find me?

    Biography

    {Skip forward many years during which I continued my schooling through elementary school, high school, college, and post-graduate studies. I also developed my love of travel, bicycling, reading, the outdoors, art, and many other things.}

    2020: I teach 6th grade social studies and language arts at Sakai Intermediate School. Even though I have been teaching in the Bainbridge Island School District since 1990 (a long time) where I’ve been happy and lucky to work with great fellow teachers, great families, and the best students in the world, every year brings something new for me.

    This year we'll have some things the same and some different. We'll start out remotely with our fingers crossed that we can move on to in-person schooling as soon as possible. It's strange that on-line learning is one of the things that will be the same this year. I hope everyone picked up valuable skills using the various platforms, programs, and procedures. Don't worry though, everyone (myself included) will need help getting back up to speed. We'll work together and make the most of our time together.

    I've had a good summer--some travel as mentioned above and some work on projects at home. I'll be back at Sakai getting ready for school soon. I hope to have fun working and learning with you this year.
