Welcome to 6th Grade! My name is Courtney Teddy and I'm thrilled to be teaching Science and Math this year at Sakai.
I grew up on Bainbridge Island and actually attended Sakai as a student when it first opened! I grew so much in my 6th grade year, and it was my inspiration to become a teacher. I graduated from BHS, attended WSU where I got my degree in Elementary Education, and later received a Masters in Middle School Science. I've been teaching in the Issaquah School District for the past 12 years, with a specific focus on Science and Technology. I want students to have hands-on knowledge, real world applications, a classroom where students can be their most authentic selves, and a place where we all get to learn through making mistakes, embracing new challenges and, most of all, having fun!
When I'm not teaching, I love to travel around the world, visit my siblings on the East Coast, cook, being out on the water boating or crabbing, and taking long walks with my Golden Retriever Bear- you might even get to hear some stories about the trouble he gets into!
We are going to have a great year!
