Students and teachers who read and prepared to discuss the books; community and staff volunteers who gave their time to read, prepare and facilitate discussion groups.     Mrs. Ayling and I are looking forward to seeing you in the library. Sakai Library has amazing books to read and fun activities planned for the year. Come visit soon and share your favorite summer books with us. Some of mine include 2017 Sasquatch Award nominees Raymie Nightengale by Kate DiCamillo and Zane and the Hurricane by Rodman Philbrick.

  • SUMMER PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS AT BAINBRIDGE PUBLIC LIBRARY

    KRL BAINBRIDGE ISLAND LIBRARY will be visiting Sakai on Thursday, June 9th to share information via the Sakai Broadcast about SUMMER PROGRAMS for students.

    Guest speakers will be Carmin Rau, Children's Librarian and Stefanie Graen Reddy, Teen Librarian.

    Program forms and information will be given to classrooms to share with students.

  • SAKAI LIBRARY BOOK SWAP

    SAKAI LIBRARY END OF YEAR BOOK SWAP - Recycle your used books and get some "new" books to read this summer! 
     
    Please look through your home library for some books to donate to a book swap in Sakai Library. We are looking for books that are in good condition and age-appropriate for 5th and 6th grade students.
     
    Books will be collected in Sakai Library from Monday, May 16th to Friday, May 27th. Swapping will begin Tuesday, May 31st and go through Friday, June 10th. 
     
    Students will be able to swap up to 10 books. Donations beyond 10 books are welcome.
     
    Volunteers to collect and sort books are needed! Call or stop by Sakai Library if you have questions or would like to volunteer 206-780-6530.

  • Stuart Gibbs Author Visit

    Spaced Out, with Stuart Gibbs

    Moon Base Alpha, Spy School and Funjungle series author, Stuart Gibbs, will be visting Sakai on Wednesday, April 13th courtesy of Eagle Harbor Book Co.

    There will be two presentations in the gym. 5th grade will be 12:40-1:25 and 6th grade will be 1:35-12:20.
