    About me:
I am starting my 27th year teaching, 22nd at BHS. Along with the classes above I teach or have taught economics, law and order, accounting, entrepreneurship, and business communications.

I enjoy sports, music, cooking & baking, being outside doing anything from working on my property, camping, hiking, being at the beach, etc. But a rainy day on the couch in pjs and a few good movies is always a good day. I like to adventure and try new things and always encourage anyone to take a chance, you might like it and if you don't then try something else.

    Welcome to my home page!

I'm looking forward to working with you as we navigate this 'new normal'. I know we will show each other patience, flexibility and grace this year, keeping in mind that moments of crisis and unexpected change can be opportunities for creativity and growth. Please know that whether we are online, offline, or hybrid, I will be doing everything I can to build a classroom community, create student learning opportunities, and promote fairness and equity.

Things will go sideways, that is ok, it is just how we react in those times that will get us through. When that happens for you, take a deep breath, walk away from the computer for a few moments, and know the world will still be spinning. We will work things out together, I am just an email or office hours away, do not be shy about communicating problems with school or other situations. My promise to you is to be open about when things are going sideways for me so you know you are not alone in this.

Students: Click on your class in on the menu to the left to find the syllabus and Google Classroom codes. As with all your classes this year, Classroom will be your go-to place for things to learn and assignments to do. Make sure you enter the code for the right class section, AM or PM. While online we will mostly meet as a large group but the classrooms are separated for when we finally get to be back in classrooms together.

Families: If you'd like to get a snapshot of what your child should be working on in my class, check out the week at a glance under the class that they are in on the menu to the left. As far as materials, for my classes students should have a working computer, if this is not the case please let me know asap. For personal finance Chromebooks are fine. In any of the Digital Design or Web Team classes if you have access to a pc or mac it will be a bit easier though a Chromebook will work, I will show you how to access the programs we use.
