Hi. My name is Carrie Fisher Holloway. This is my 31st year of teaching. I have taught first and second grade, all at Blakely Elementary School. I studied history at University of Washington and I received my B.A. and teaching certification from Seattle Pacific University. I also earned my master's degree in reading and language arts from SPU. I am a National Board Certified teacher.
I grew up on Mercer Island and Bainbridge Island. For the first ten years of my life I lived on Mercer Island during the school year and then every summer my family came to Bainbridge Island to spend the summer in what had originally been my grandparents' summer cabin on Pleasant Beach. When I was in fifth grade my family moved to Bainbridge Island full time. I went to Wilkes Elementary and then Commodore Middle School and Bainbridge High School. My brother and I loved reading Tintin books when we were kids, and as you can tell I'm still a big Tintin fan!
My husband's name is Michael and he is a high school history teacher. I have two young adult children and two cats. When I'm not busy with school, I love to read, hike, garden and do yoga. I love to travel and have been fortunate to travel in Europe and Asia.
