  • Welcome to ART!

I am excited to be joining the Commodore family. I will be teaching art to K-8 Odyssey, Mosaic students, and Eagle Harbor High School. Great things, both big and small, are happening in our studio this year!

I grew up in the Washington, DC area and moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2004. After living in Seattle for 13 years, my family and I moved to Bainbridge last summer. I live in an old farm house with my husband (Jared), three children (Cade: 6th grade at Sakai; Deacon: 3rd grade at Blakely; Evan: Kindergarten at Blakely), 1 dog (Furio, 16!!), 8 chickens, and millions of bees. I love to work in my garden, travel with my family, and MAKE ART!

I graduated from Macalester College in 1999, majoring in Studio Art and Arts Education. Over the years I have worked with students across all grade levels, and even spent some time working in the Education Department at the Frye Art Museum. I’m thrilled to be joining the Bainbridge School District this fall.

I’m looking forward to meeting all my K-12 students and getting messy with them. Our studio classes will be focused on exploring art materials through hands-on projects, art history storytelling, and interdiscliplinary projects tied to their classroom learning.
