Mr. Andrew Carr

My name is Andrew Carr, and I am excited to be teaching chemistry this year here at BHS. 

The Helpful Resources page provide links to each class' Google classroom, Remind, and other online resources. Please be patient as I become more familiar with the Google product; the most recent district in which I taught used a different platform.

About Me:

  • I LOVE teaching chemistry. I know some students assume its too hard, or they've heard bad things about it from siblings, parents, or peers. I understand why; I was NOT a good chemistry student in high school. As a teacher I work really hard to disprove those negative assumptions, and design the course so that any student who applies themself can acheive success.   
  • I have taught for 20 years in a variety of settings, include Wedgwood Co-op Preschool, Islander Middle School (Mercer Island School District), The Privett Academy (Mercer Island), Brier Terrace Middle School (Edmonds School District), and Kingston High School (North Kitsap School District). 
  • I've also worked in the entertainment industry as a professional actor, and in the health care field as an administrator and medical assistant.
  • I'm married to Keri, the father of three sons (ages 10, 13, and 17), step-father of five (13 year old twins, and ages 17, 21, & 25). I'm also a father-in-law and the proud gradfather to a 1 year old grandaughter! I also have two dogs and two cats. 
  • In my spare time I enjoy reading, photography, spending time with my family, and trying to stay physically fit.
