Welcome to Mr. Read's page!
Over the years I've had the opportunity to work with the Ordway staff in a variety of ways--as a colleague, a trainer and (on occasion) a "substitute principal." This year I'm excited to join the Ordway team in the role of Associate Principal, a position I'll be sharing with Sakai. Students at Ordway can expect to see me most days of the week in the mornings, usually up until lunch time.
I began my teaching career with the Everett School District (where I was a student from Kindergarten through 12th), teaching 5th grade before I received my Master's in Educational Administration from Western Washington University. From there, I was assigned to an elementary assistant principal position with Everett until 2002. After moving to Kingston, I was fortunate to join the Wilkes team as a 4th grade teacher until 2014, continuing with Wilkes (and Blakely) as instructional coach for the 2014-15 school year.
When I'm not at my wonderful place of work I love traveling, writing, watching great films and spending quality time with my partner, our three sons and our two high-maintenance dogs.
