Hello and welcome to a great new school year!
My name is Kristin Collins and I am lucky to be your child's teacher. This will be my 24th year in the classroom and my ninth year at Wilkes. I am thrilled to be a member of such an amazing Wilkes community! You should know that I will do everything I can to make learning fun and to connect with you and your child! The third grade team will be working hard together to provide instruction and learning for all of our third graders.
To share a little bit about myself, I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Washington (Go Huskies!) and my Master's in Teaching degree from Seattle University. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher, with a focus as a Middle Childhood Generalist (which means all subject areas for kids ages 7-12). I moved to Bainbridge ten years ago from Snohomish, Washington to be closer to my folks, who live here on the island. My family and I love it here!! My husband Sean also works on the island and we have a son, Luke, a senior at BHS, and a daughter, Eleanor, who is heading back to start her sophomore year at college in Virginia this fall. In my spare time during non-pandemic times, I love to read, travel, go to the movies and theater, and sing second alto in the Bainbridge Chorale. I am looking forward to working with you and your child to make this a memorable year full of great learning and fun!
