Degrees and Certifications:
I began my teaching career in San Antonio, Texas in August of 1996 after graduating from Our Lady of the Lake University. I taught a bilingual kindergarten class at Hutchins Elementary for 4 years. In 1999 I married my husband, Michael, and in May 2000 I joined him in Virginia where he was stationed at the time. I taught Kindergarten and First grade for Norfolk Public Schools and in 2004 we moved to Mississippi. I taught 3rd grade and Kindergarten for three years in Gautier, Mississippi and then moved to North Carolina in 2007. I taught K-12 ESL for Elizabeth City Public Schools until 2011 when we were sent to Rota, Spain. While is Spain I taught 2nd and 3rd grade for DGF Elementary School which is a Department of Defense School. On a personal level, I have been blessed with two great girls McKailey who is 14 and will be a freshman in High School this year and Madeleine who is 10 and will be a 5th grader this year. Almost six years ago we added a dog to our family. Tobey, our yellow lab, has become our third “child” and completely taken over our hearts. I like to spend time with my family, bake, and read (mysteries are my favorite!). My family and I love it here and are glad to call this place home.
