This week in room 73 we worked on place value.

We are studying seeds and plants in science and found the similarities of a seed and a space ship.

We took our first star reading test and started ST math.

We did a lot of group projects, every table made a group story.

We talked about 9/11 and watched a brain pop video on it.

It’s been a long week in room 73 and everybody seems excited about the weekend!!!

Welcome to our classroom blog!  This is a new format for school/home communication that we will be trying this year.  Each week our class historian will write a blog entry all about the most important classroom happenings of the week and we will post it here.
We had a great first week of 4th grade last week! We learned A LOT about classroom procedures and rules but also managed to have some fun! We worked together to save our gummy worm, Sam, from drowning (ask your students about this!), created group mascots (we have the Chubby Chipmunks, The Scribbly Dibbly Doos, The Neon Sparks, The Oogly Booglies, The Bizarre Bessies, and The Zorfinators), created a chain that demonstrates how many talents and abilities we have collectively, and also took the most difficult test of the year, which included all kinds of facts about Ms. Marshall that I had never taught them.
We also created our Social Contract and agreed to abide by it all year long.  It is linked below.
We had a back to school assembly and went to P.E., Art, and Library AND we celebrated Mason's birthday. We can't wait for what next week will bring!
-3rd/4th grade Parent Night: Thursday, September 11 6:30-7:30
-Field Trip to the Ballard Locks: Tuesday, September 16. We will need chaperones!
