My name is Diane Fielding Bedell and this is my sixteenth year teaching at Blakely. I live on the island with my husband, my wacky dog and a cat who likes to sing. My sons were once Blakely Bulldogs. They are grown up and off having their own adventures. I love to teach and I feel very fortunate to work at such a fine, fine school. Thanks to generous donations from BSF we have a STEM program in all the elementary schools. This year will be my fourth year teaching STEM and my first year teaching HC. I am very excited to have this opportunity.
When I'm not teaching, I am busy traveling the world, walking my dog, writing, hiking or skiing with my sons or trying a new recipe. Life is full of adventure.
Every day I try to learn something new.
Education is not the filling of a pail,
but the lighting of a fire.
