The Bainbridge wrestling team is a family bonded by the desire for excellence and the pursuit of greatness. Wrestling isn't just something that we do, it's a liefstyle, a way of approaching every challenge that comes our way.
Every athlete who has ever competed for Bainbridge wrestling has great pride in what they have accomplished. Many have taken home medals, few have been the best in the State, all left as champions.
"I always reflect on my time as a wrestler. Anyone who's wrestled knows that it's the hardest thing in the world to do. And anyone who says something else is the hardest thing... has never wrestled. When I think of the frontier of astrophysics, the challenges, we do it not because it's easy, but because it's hard. You don't wrestle because it's easy... you wrestle because it's hard. I don't do astrophysics because it's easy, I do it because it's hard... and I juxtapose the two in my mind, body and soul, all the time."
- Neil deGrasse Tyson
"...I learned a lot about taking responsibility for my actions when I wrestled for 4 years... All professional athletes ought to spend a year wrestling. It teaches you something. You get pinned; you can't blame the coach. You can't blame your teammates. The guy you are looking for is staring back at you in the mirror."
-Former Phillies pitcher Mitch Willimas
"I Love wrestlers, I think that they are the toughest competitors out there. There is no hiding on the wrestling mat. If you are going to be a wrestler for a while, there is no question that true toughness comes from that... I wish they were all wrestlers, then we would have a really tough team."
-Former UW football coach Chris Petersen
"Whenever something gets hard I always remember my time wrestling and know that I can do whatever it takes to get the job done."
