In Intro to Computer Science, first year students will complete the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) course called App Creators. In this course, students will focus on creating Android Apps using MIT App Inventor.

App Creators will expose students to computer science and computational thinking concepts through analyzing and developing solutions to authentic problems with mobile app development. App Creators will help demonstrate the positive impact of computer science through application to other disciplines and to society. 

Students will customize their experience by choosing a problem that interests them from the areas of health, environment, emergency preparedness, education, community service, school culture, or another area of their choice. Because problems in the real world involve more than one discipline, the unit will introduce students to biomedical science concepts as they work on solutions for the specific problems they choose to tackle.
