A Letter from the Superintendent
DEAR BISD FAMILIES,
Welcome to the start of a new year in the Bainbridge Island School District! While this school year will look different than in the past, our district’s mission remains to help all students become successful learners, caring individuals and responsible citizens.
Whether you are new to our district or have been with us for years, we are excited to begin a new cycle of learning and growth with you and your child. I also recognize that in addition to excitement, there can be some nervousness and jitters about the new school year, especially given the current pandemic. To every student and parent, please be assured that our staff members are here to ensure that students feel welcomed and respected, whether online or in-person. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s experience, I encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher, counselor, or principal for assistance. If after reaching out at the school level you believe you need further support, do not hesitate to contact my office at 206-780-1052.
This annual handbook outlines some important district policies and serves as a resource for essential details such as lunch prices and information on transportation, and new this year — our practices in the era of COVID-19.
I appreciate your partnership as we move forward through this school year together.
