    GRADING POLICY:

    Assessments (85%):

     

    The purpose and focus of this class is LEARNING. The grade you earn will reflect your level of learning and understanding of the mathematics learning targets as shown on assessments.  

         

    Class & assignments (15%):

     

    Daily practice and organization is important to solidify your understanding of concepts. HAssignments are checked daily for completion and fully showing your work.  Late work is accepted for 60% credit up to the day of the unit test.   Daily Warm ups will be collected at the end of the unit

         

    Problem Solving & Mathematical

    Collaboration:

     

    To truly learn math, you must discuss interesting problems with others. We will work to build your collaborative skills, having critical and constructive exchanges, valuing mistakes, and encouraging and supporting one another as we create the courage and perseverance to solve challenging problems.

    Classroom Procedures

    Additional Instruction Hours (no appointment needed but always a good idea to make sure I don't have a meeting):

    Mon – Fri: 8:10 - 8:40 AM

    Mon- Thur: 3:10 - 3:40  PM (During BHS Baseball season I am unavailable after school.)

     

    Practice Problems.    Turned in daily.  (Late work is accepted for 60% credit up to the day of the unit test. )

     

    Assignments:   All assignments are posted to Google Classroom.   I do not post assignments to School Wires.  

     

    Textbooks:   This class will use an on-line textbook. You go to www.cengage.com and enter your username and password.

     

    Electronic Devices (Bainbridge High School Policy)

    Cellular phones, MP3 players, and/or other electronic devices are not to be used during class time.  Cell Phones will be stored in the cell phone holder during class.  Students using phones for unauthorized reasons will have their phones confiscated. 

     

    Seating:   We will utilize a seating chart selected randomly.  We will sit in groups of three.  We will change seats weekly or more frequently if needed.
