  • Return to Learn Handbook

In preparation for bringing students to school, BISD has created a Return to Learn Handbook with a high-level overview of the many ways BISD has modified operational practices to keep schools as safe as possible.

The handbook was developed using the guidance outlined in the Washington State Department of Health's K-12 COVID-19 Requirements for Summer 2021 and the 2021-2022 School Year, dated Oct. 27, 2021. BISD believes in following the science related to COVID safety protocols. We are confident in the recommendations from our Washington State and Kitsap County Health Departments, and we have incorporated their mandates and recommendations into our district's reopening plan.

  • Attestation Form
The Centers for Disease Control recommends that schools do not conduct daily symptom screening for K-12 students due to the ineffectiveness of on-site screening. Instead, the CDC encourages guardians to monitor their children for symptoms of infectious illness every day through home-based symptom screening prior to sending the student to school.

GUARDIANS: Please complete this form attesting that you will monitor your child(ren) daily for symptoms of illness (including taking their temperature) and not send them to school when ill.

PLEASE NOTE: School health rooms are very diligent and will send students home if they are exhibiting signs of illness.

  • Family Access: Where to log-in

    Attention Commodore Families:

Since we’ve updated our website, some of the log-in links have been rearranged. The SIGN-IN box at the very top of the page is for staff to log-in to the website and is not a Skyward/Family Access link.

You can log-in to Skyward from any of these options:

    • Scroll to the middle of the page where it says POPULAR LINKS and select the Skyward/Family Access button (near the center of the page).
    • There’s also a Skyward/Family Access on the left-hand side of the page, under SITE SHORTCUTS.
    • And at the bottom of every page (in the footer region) there is a Skyward/Family Access login.

If you still aren't able to sign-in, please contact Michelle Hope in Commodore's front office.
