Capital Projects & Facilities

Who We Are & What We Do

Capital Projects exists to oversee the building and renovation of projects funded by voter-approved bonds.  The Bainbridge Island community has demonstrated support of BISD projects by approving a $45M Bond in 2006, and a $42M Bond in 2009.  This investment allowed for the replacement of the 200 Building at Bainbridge Island High School and Captain Charles Wilkes Elementary School, as well as much needed funding for repairs and upgrades to all other schools and facilities.

As teaching methods evolve, buildings also need to be able to adapt and evolve with them.  The Bainbridge Island School District  is committed to creating and maintaining the best possible learning environment for all students in a fiscally responsible and progressively sustainable manner.  We want our buildings to serve our future generations.
