Ms. D'Arcy Clements (she/her)
Many years ago, a friend referred to me as a "renaissance woman"...and it was a title that stuck. I've been drawn to education my entire life. Although teaching math is my passion, I've been caught teaching various classes from speech to stage fighting to music.
Prior to settling into mathematics education, I was a corporate employee for 11+ years, focused on IT and project and people management, but mostly creating, presenting and implementing a variety of procedures and materials. I then became a stay-at-home parent and decided to pursue my teacher certification. While attending graduate school I learned about our school district by working as a substitute paraprofessional and a volunteer in the BHS Math Lab. And, upon receiving my credentials as a "Highly Qualified Certificated Educator", I served as a substitute teacher for BISD, an adjunct mathematics community college professor, and an educator at a private secondary school where I was nominated by students for "2014 Best of Western Washington - Best Teacher".
Bainbridge has been my home since 1999. However, I spent time here each summer visiting relatives as far back as I can remember. (My island family history dates back to the 1920's, but I'm not quite that old.) When I have a spare moment, I love spending time with my family, usually in a dark theater, off and on stage!
I am grateful for the opportunity to explore my love of teaching and learning with staff and students I respect and admire, as well as participate in the growth and development of BHS as a whole.
