I wanted to let you know a little bit more about myself. I am a University of Pennsylvania graduate with a BA in Elementary Education and minors in French and Art History. I have been a teacher since 1989 (oh my, I just dated myself!). I earned a Master's in International Education in England with a focus on science curriculum and have taught all ages from Pre-school to 8th grade in schools located in Pennsylvania, California, Washington, Zambia, Africa and The Netherlands. I have been a teacher in the Bainbridge Island School district for the past 17 years.
I met my outdoorsy Dutch husband while running in Africa. He became a dual citizen and we have three lovely children, Anika, Tessa, and Martin. Anika graduated from the Bainbridge Island Schools and graduated from the University of Delft in The Netherlands. Tessa is also a Bainbridge Island graduate and is now a sophomore at Western Washington University Honors. Martin is entering his junior year in high school.
In my free time I enjoy running, mountain biking, gardening, art, reading and playing games. We have lots of pets (mostly ducks and chickens) and that is Nico, our Spanish "rescue puppy" in the top photograph. I love being a teacher and am looking forward to a great school year with all of you!
