BHS students have been given the option of using their Chromebook over the summer.
Here is more information about this initiative, including a form to receive technical support during the summer.
To encourage ongoing educational opportunities and alleviate distribution logistics, all BISD students will continue to have access to their Chromebooks by taking them home during the summer months. This opportunity was successfully piloted last summer by Eagle Harbor High School.
To assist you, the following are tips for summer Chromebook use:
- Keep Chromebooks away from pets or young children.
- Avoid heat and direct sunlight.
- Avoid liquids – Beware of wet swimsuits and towels.
- Keep Chromebooks plugged into a surge protector when they are not in use.
- Please do not drain your Chromebook completely of power as it may be difficult to recharge and power up.
If you are experiencing software or hardware issues with your Chromebook, please fill out this form and a technician will be in contact with you.
NOTE: While Chromebooks will be repaired as quickly as possible, replacements are not available over the summer.
If you chose to purchase insurance during the 2017-18 school year, your insurance policy covers the Chromebook through August. We will provide you with another opportunity to purchase insurance for the 2018-19 school year.
Leaving the District
If you leave the district during the summer, you may call the technology help desk at 206-780-1668 for further instructions. If the device (Chromebook, power cord, and bag) is not returned, you will be responsible for the full replacement cost of the device: $350.
Interested in a Pro Sports Career?
Sounders Annual Pro Sports Career Day will be happening Wednesday, September 19th. This is an exclusive event that allows students to get a behind the scenes look into what it means to work for a professional soccer team. Before a match, students will have access to a panel of Sounders FC speakers, they then will be able to see our ultimate marketing tools.
The event will be hosted on Wednesday, September 19th. A panel of Sounders FC executives will begin at 6pm. The Sounders will then take on Philadelphia Union, the kickoff at 8pm. During the match there will be an interactive scavenger hunt (all from the comfort of their seats) that will allow students to notice marketing and corporate sponsorship tactics, for the chance to win prizes.
Anyone interested in this event see Ms. Rose, rm. 207 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration will open this week and the event will be full by the end of the school year.
