About me: I earned my BA in English at Western Washington University and my MA at Wake Forest University. I started my teaching career in the Portland area, moved to Bainbridge in 2000, and have taught at BHS since then. I live on Bainbridge Island with my husband, three children, and our dog, Bean.
If you're reading this, you probably recently opened your 2023-2024 school schedule! I'll update this website later, but for now:
Welcome. I'm excited to meet you (or to see you again, if I already know you)! The school supplies you'll need for my class, whether it's AP Lit or 9th English, are these: 1) a composition book or single subject spiral notebook with college-ruled paper; 2) pencils and black or blue pens; 3) whatever folders or binders you need to keep handouts and take notes. You do not need these supplies before the first week of school, so there is no need to rush to the store this weekend if you don't already have them on hand.
If you want to reach out to me before class begins to let me know something I need to know about you on Day One (your preferred name, if different from Skyward; any seating considerations, etc.), please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Message below is for AP Lit students only.
Hello! If you signed up for AP Literature for the 2023-2024 school year, please join our Google Classroom. [Sign in code: dkgpjat]
This will NOT be an active Classroom; however, it does provide resources for the summer reading. (We would like AP Lit students to read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein--either edition--this summer so that we can work with the material when we come together in September. More details are on the GC page.)
Have a great summer!
