Mr. Lemieux's Brief Biography
Mr. Lemieux has taught all grades from kindergarten through eighth grade in California, New York, the San Juan Islands, Mercer Island, and Bainbridge Island. Central in his classroom are interdisciplinary connectivity, social justice, and project-based learning. He holds a Master’s degree in Human Development, as well as undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Environmental Studies. Aside from teaching, the major focus in his life is spending time with his wife, two daughters, and our dog Lucy. They have been building their own house on the island in their spare time; it’s not done yet. His hobbies and interests include travel, cooking, reading, visual arts, cycling, backpacking, sailing/boating, and making things. He has traveled to more than 30 different countries and around much of the United States, usually seeking out art, food, mountains, and cultural holy sites. Mr. Lemieux really likes teaching at Sakai and is excited about starting the school year!
