Mr. Lemieux has taught all grades from kindergarten through eighth grade in California, New York, the San Juan Islands, Mercer Island, and on Bainbridge Island. Central in his classroom is inter-disciplinary connectivity, social justice, and project-based learning. He holds a Master’s degree in Human Development, as well as undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Environment Studies. Aside from teaching, the major focus in his life is spending time with his wife and two daughters. They have been building their own house on the island in their spare time; it’s not done yet. His hobbies and interests include travel, cooking, reading, visual arts, cycling, backpacking, sailing and making things. He has traveled in about 30 different countries and around much of the United States, usually seeking out art, food, mountains, and cultural holy sites. Mr. Lemieux really likes teaching at Sakai and is excited to start the 2020-2021 school year!
