Welcome!My name is Meloni Courtway and I am the Family and Consumer Sciences Education (FACSE) teacher at Bainbridge High School. I look forward to cooking up all kinds of fun with the kids at BHS as we discover what it is that makes each of our lives "go!" From the homes we live in, to the families we live with, the foods we enjoy, and the clothes we wear, our Family and Consumer Sciences course will take an in-depth look at how diverse, and yet how similar, we all are. We get hands-on and messy in the FACSE room and create lots of learning along the way.* Students who take this course should expect to take responsibility for food allergies. While precautions are always taken, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.Before becoming a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher, I worked in the big, wide world of culinary arts, as a trained chef, culinary instructor, food writer/journalist, and author. I'm originally from California, and our family has lived in Michigan and Hawaii before relocating permanently to this wonderful island in the Pacific Northwest.Who's hungry?
