Odyssey teacher receives Washington State Literacy Award

Recently Odyssey teacher Barry Hoonan received the Washington State Literacy Award at the Washington State Literacy Association (WaSLA, formerly known as WORD).
The award was given to two teachers who are dedicated to improving the teaching and learning of reading and writing in grades K - 8. Along with the honor, each teacher was awarded a $2,500 grant to be used for professional development.
"I am honored to receive the  Washington State Literacy Teacher Leader Award," said Barry. "It means a ton to me since it both recognizes my friend and colleague, Dr. Bonnie Campbell Hill's contribution to teacher development, and it supports big ideas in teaching and learning."
Congratulations, Barry!
