BHS Showcase

Future Business Leaders of America chapter, they had 24 individuals/groups place in the top six of their events at the regional competition.
 
Jazz Band competed in the Viking Jazz Festival, they earned 3rd place in the 3A/4A division. Henry Brown and Taylor Lhamon both won individual soloist awards.

  • White Out Tonight!

    Tonight is the last home game of the season and Senior Night tonight. Everyone wear white to show your support for our BHS Spartans!

    Blood Drive

    Wednesday, February 10 from 8:30-2:30 in the Commodore Gym. If you would like to donate, sign-ups are in the main office. Permission slips are at the office if you are a first time donor or 16 & 17 years of age, you must have a parent signed permission slip. Donation area will be closed from 11:30-12:15.



      Future Footprint Speaker Session, Wednesday, February 10th
    The BISD Career & Technical Education (CTE) Department is hosting a speaker series for high school students the next session is on Wednesday, February 10, with speakers who have experience in business, marketing, and management. Sessions will be held during both lunch periods in the BHS Library Reading Room. Students may bring their lunch and eat while they attend the session and the CTE Department will be providing cookies for dessert!

    Deadline Extended for Three High School Student Internships! 

    The following local employers have extended the student internship application deadline: City of Bainbridge Island, Clark Construction and Bloedel Reserve.  All three of these organizations are offering to accept a student intern during Monday early release time (2:00-4:00 pm). These employers have arranged a multi-week experience that includes spending time in several departments learning the various aspects of their business. The  competitive application and interview process includes students selecting one of these three organizations/industries that they are interested in learning more about and submitting a resume to Mrs. Brown by email jbrown@bisd303.org.  Then, selected students will be interviewed by the employer at the employer location.  Students must be 16 years old to participate in this program and provide their own transportation to the internship location.
     
    Resumes are due to Mrs. Brown by 4:00 pm on February 10th.  Please indicate which of the three internships you are applying for in your email.  More details regarding each of these opportunities can be found on the CTE Department webpage under the Announcements tab.


    Winter One Acts

    Come see the all student created and produced short plays at the annual Winter One Acts. This years' theme is Island Family Portrait and shows will be on Friday & Saturday, February 5 and 6 and Thursday & Friday, February 11 and 12. Shows start at 7:30pm in the LGI, students $8.00, adults $10.


    BHS PTSO Opportunity Grant Fund 2016:  Application Deadline February 23, 2016

    This year, the BHS PTSO has set aside money to support special projects at BHS.  Any PTSO member may apply (all BHS students, teachers, and parents are members).  Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact a PTSO co-president prior to submitting an application to confirm that the project is eligible.
