Options Programs Information Night
Wednesday, March 1 in the Commodore Commons
First info session is from 5:30-7pm
Second info session is from 7-8:30pm
(Both sessions are identical but offered to accommodate families' schedules.)
The Bainbridge Island School District (BISD) is proud to offer a variety of option programs across the district. Feedback from the recent superintendent’s listening tour noted a high demand for options and a desire to grow these programs in a fiscally responsible manner.
In partnership with our schools, BISD will offer a coordinated options program information night. This will allow a one-stop shop for interested parents and allow the district to gauge interest in the possible expansion of these programs. If you are interested in learning more about these programs as they currently exist, or interested in how they might be able to grow, this will be an informative evening.
The presentations will also be posted to the district site the following day.
Odyssey Multiage Program (K-8)
The Odyssey Multiage Program emphasizes a multi-age learning environment with high parent involvement. The program currently serves grades 1-8. We would like to gauge the interest in expanding this program to include kindergarten.
Eagle Harbor High School (9-12)
Eagle Harbor High School provides an environment in which students can create and direct their academic program while they explore their role and relevance in the wider community.
Wilkes Multiage Program (1-4)
Multiage Education includes a team teaching atmosphere for students of multiple ages, abilities and maturity levels. Each child receives targeted differentiated instruction according to developmental needs.
El Velero Spanish Immersion (K-4)
El Velero gives students the opportunity to progress through district curriculum in a bilingual immersion environment. Students learn to understand, speak, read, and write in Spanish.
Mosaic Home Education Partnership (K-8)
Mosaic offers students a personalized, non-traditional learning environment. The majority of the instruction is home-based with the parent as the primary educator and monthly meetings with a certified teacher.
