Welcome to Team Spartronics' 2015 Season
Team Spartronics Takes 2nd Place at Shorewood Regional Competition!
Team Spartronics, together with the two other teams in their alliance, went all the way to the final match at their weekend competition March 21-22nd. The team finished first in the top four alliances for the semi-finals and in the top two alliances for the finals. The FIRST Robotics competitions are not just about knowledge, skill and strategy for each team, competitions employ a large cooperation component as teams compete together and form alliances on the fly without any advance practice together.
Overall the team finished out the weekend ranked 17th in WA and OR. Congratulations Team Spartronics, Coach Chee, and all the professional mentors who donate their time the team. The team is hoping to qualify for a spot in the District Championship and will find out after all the regional matches conclude.
More details about the team, upcoming events, photos, and videos can be found at the Team Spartronics website http://spartronics4915.com/

Team Spartronics Heads to Portland for PNW Championship Competition
- Needs to Raise Funds
The students participating in Team Spartronics are fundraising for their upcoming April trip to Portland.

They have just 12 days for their Rookie team to raise $4000 for the registration fee. Their families are paying for everything else such as food and lodging.
Every dollar counts, fully tax deductible, 100% goes to FIRST Robotics Team 4195 - just put Robotics Team on the second step under "Dedicate Your Donation," when donating online.
Please share this information to help send them to Portland.

How does it feel to be an "All Star" and an "Inspiration"?
The 35 BHS students on Team Spartronics know exactly how that feels. After an action-packed weekend spent in robotics challenge matches at Shoreline High School where they won the district tournament, the team is currently ranked 6th out of 150 robotics teams in Washington and Oregon.
In addition to being given the Rookie All Star Team award two weeks ago, the team was honored this past weekend with the Rookie Inspiration award. This special award highlights the team’s outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering and engineers in their community and school.
Both successful recent competitions have earned Team Spartronics a spot in the Pacific NW Championship Competition in Portland on April 10-12. The team is currently organizing an on-line fundraising campaign to pay for the Portland competition registration fee.
Congratulations to Coach Chee, Team Spartronics, and their mentors. We appreciate your team's effort and the fantastic way you are representing BHS.
On to Portland!
BHS is participating in the First Robotics Competition in the spring of 2014. Over 30 students have volunteered to be part of a new robotics club that will design, engineer, build, and compete with a fully functioning robot in March. Science teacher Enrique Chee is working with a dozen community volunteers to coach Team Spartronics in their rookie year.
